The principals of Fraser Plastics Ltd. are experienced manufacturing businessmen and women who have developed their process gradually to meet the growing demand for an effective grinding, washing, and extruding processing facility in the Pacific Northwest. The plant is located in the Albion Industrial area of Maple Ridge. Fraser Plastics processes post-consumer and post-industrial plastic, and sell plastic pellets, washed/regrind flakes and baled plastic.

We are currently looking for an energetic, experienced and efficient Sorter to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Sorter to sort various post-consumer and post-industrial materials and finished products and also perform general labour work to support our manufacturing activities. Our ideal candidate is a quick learner, efficient and works well as a part of a team.

Job Title: Sorter - recyclable materials

No. of Positions: 1

Job Description and Duties:

• Actively sort materials according to type, size, coloring as required
• Thoroughly verify quality and weigh materials and products
• Sort on conveyor line by pulling the contamination off line
• Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout the manufacturing facility
• Packing and crating finished products
• Adhere to safety requirements.
• Report any deficiencies or repairs immediately as required
• Clean lines, machines, equipment and work areas
• Assist machine operators and other manufacturing workers
• Perform general labour related to plastics manufacturing

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time, Long Term

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week 

Wages:  $17.00 per hour 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations 

Benefits Package: 

• Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer
• Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

• On the job training will be provided
• No formal Education Requirements
• Ability to communicate in English

Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: 

• Fast-paced environment, manual dexterity, attention to detail and
  hand-eye co-ordination
• Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling
• Strength and agility are necessary for lifting and climbing
