FLYNNS DAIRY BAR & CONVENIENCE is seeking to hire 2 full-time, permanent Dessert Maker

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience creating and preparing specialized East Indian flavoured Milkshakes/desserts. At Fun & Shakes we offer unique and flavourful dessert milkshakes, catering to a wide variety of palates. Completion of secondary school is an asset.

Wage - CAD $14.00/hour

Education – Min-High School

Experience – 3-5 years

You should be reliable and able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Duties will include:

• Creating milkshakes with fruits, nuts, etc.
• Introducing unique flavour blends inspired by a variety of Indian desserts such as Ras Malai, Rabri, Kheer etc.
• Having a ground knowledge of fruit to nut ratio
• Preparing milkshakes/desserts for customers according to their preferences
• Clean, peel, slice and trim food -fruits, nuts, using manual and electric appliances
• Use waffle maker, blender, dispensers and other equipment, ice cream dishes, milkshakes and other beverages
• Portion, assemble, and wrap food or place it directly on plates/cups for service to patrons, and package for take-out
• Use equipment to prepare smoothies, waffles and shakes
• Stock refrigerators and ice cream bars and keep records of the quantities of food used
• Training staff to prepare milkshake/desserts;
• Washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, organizing
• Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
• Handle and store cleaning products
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash
• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
• May receive payment for food items purchased
