Job description
- Using Global Positioning Systems to monitor the location of the drivers
- Communicating with brokers, carriers, suppliers and customers
- Directing and organizing logistics activities that may include obtaining shipping rates or negotiating with service providers
- Ensuring carrier compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ensuring prompt receipt and delivery of equipment to and from customers
- Coordinating deliveries with other work units or departments
- Dealing with conflict and being able to solve it quickly
- Co-ordinate and review the work of clerks engaged in the following duties: shipping, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventories of products.
- Manage the loading of trucks, setting up delivery routes, and unloading of materials.
- Oversee the shipment and delivery of goods and warehouse personnel.
- Establish work schedules and procedures
- Co-ordinate activities with drivers, customers and other work units or departments
- Prepare and submit reports
- Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery
- Arrange for maintenance and repair work
- Resolve work related problems
- Train workers in duties and policies and arrange training for staff
- Conduct performance reviews
- Requisition/ Order materials, equipment, and supplies
- Co-ordinate, assign and review work
- Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization
Employer Requirements -
- Education - Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience - 1 years to less than 2 years
