Job description


Salary: $38.50 per hour, for 32-40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Full Time, Permanent, Day

Education: Completion of a degree in accounting

Location: 3555 Don Mills Raod, Suite 213, North York, ON

Experience: 3 years or more

Credentials: Charterered Professional Accountant (CPA), Provincial or territorial licence (CGA, CMA, CA)

Abiliity to Supervise: 5-10 people

Main duties of the Job:

[1] Conduct compilation, review, bookkeeping and tax engagements;

[2] Assist in the initial set-up of the full set of accounting books and records system, such as chart of accounts and accounts mapping for new clients and newly incorporated business;

[3] Apply knowledge of GAAP and GAAS in client engagements;

[4] Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports;

[5] Verify financial information and general ledgers for accuracy, prepare year-end adjusting entries and assist in tax planning;

[6] Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports, provide clients with appropriate recommendation;

[7] Prepare account reconciliations and verify accuracy of client bookkeeping;

[8] Prepare correspondence and client summaries outlining findings, facts and highlights for client meetings;

[9] Prepare personal tax returns - Personal (T1) and Corporate (T2), and other information returns;

[10] Gather information and prepare response to CRA Processing Reviews, Pre-assessment reviews, and CRA Audits;

[11] Perform tax research and summarize findings for managers to review;

[12] Liaise and correspond professionally with clients and colleagues; and

[13] May guide and train co-op students (if applicable) and new hires in using accounting and tax software.
