Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.

• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.

• Prepare tenders and quotations.

• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.

• Survey building locations and levels.

• Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.

• Estimate costs and materials.

• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in establishments.

Qualification/Skills

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience is required
• Requires the ability to read, write, communicate in English
• Can manage renovation, maintenance and repair work at site
• Willing to travel regularly on various locations
• Able to handle Carpentry/woodworking machinery
• Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Bending, crouching, kneeling; Overtime required

Salary:

$25.50 for 35 hours per week
