Machining tool operators

Northeast Machine Works Inc. in Miramichi, New Brunswick has been specializing in industrial manufacturing, SolidWorks mechanical design, geometric dimension and tolerancing ASME 14.5, custom fabrication, and welding, as well as on-site work since 1986. Our employees are qualified mechanical engineering technologists, manufacturing engineering technologists, welders, machinists, millwrights, pipe fitters. If you break it! We can fix it!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently sets up machines and tools.

• Must be able to perform basic machining operations, turning, threading & boring.

• Observes and monitors machining process and re-adjusts fixturing, tooling, or cutting parameters if necessary.

• Operate other manual machine tools such as milling machines or lathes, as well as hand tools.

• Machining components to tight tolerances and accuracy

• Fulfills additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Ability to work in the imperial and metric measurement system.

Qualifications: (experience needed and education)

• High school diploma is required

• 6 months or more experience in a related position is required

• Ability to diagnose and repair shop equipment considered an asset.

Salary: $24 - 27 / Hour

Bonus:  Potential for profit sharing at year end of up to 5% of annual salary

Job Type: Full-time permanent, 40 hours per week 

Language: At least intermediate English speaking is required.
