Position: Carpenter

Position Available: 2

Terms of Employment: Full Time and Permanent (Overtime, weekends if required)

Wage: $ 30.50 to $31.50 hourly (to be negotiated) 37.5 to 40 hours per Week

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Candidates are required to work at various locations in Lower Mainland, Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley as per company contracts.

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

 Job Requirements:

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Work Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, and handling heavy loads

Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, Team player
