Located in Niagara-on-the-lake WILLOW CAKES & PASTRIES is currently looking for a talented baker to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, muffins, scones etc.
• Bake mixed dough and batters
• Decorating and displaying finished products
• Operate machinery
• Decorate cakes and pastries
• Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls
• Keeping records relating to deliveries, inventory, and production levels.
• Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift

• Draw up a production schedule to determine the type and quantity of goods to produce
• Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
• Maintaining a safe, secure, legal, and healthy work environment, fostering a spirit of teamwork and unit among co-workers

Required Education & Experience;

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience as a baker
• Completion of a high school diploma is mandatory.
• Completion of a Baking Arts course is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• English language knowledge is required;
• Must be available to work early mornings starting 5:30 am and weekends
• Must own a vehicle as there is no public transportation available
• Ability to multitask and work effectively
• Self-disciplined, eager to learn, and have a passion for the food and service industry

Pay Rate/ Salary: CAD$19.8/h

44 hours per week
