Job title: Bookkeeper

Remuneration: 27 hourly, 40 hours per week

Education bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
Experience +5 years
Location Newmarket, ON: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

Type of Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience working in a bookkeeping or accounting role in a mid-large sized company. Big 4 experience a plus
- Experience with QuickBooks software or other accounting systems.
- Strong Excel skills required (e.g. Pivot Table & VLOOKUP experience)
- Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent is an asset.
- Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports.
Duties:
- Keep financial records, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
- Prepare trial balance of books.
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents.
- Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services.
- Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
