Job Summary:

• Private household in Markham, ON is looking for a full-time Child Caregiver-Private Home.
• The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evenings.
• Salary: $18.00 per hour, 30 hours per week
• Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free
• Work Location: Must work in employer's home: 34 Wootten Way South, Markham ON L3P 3J1
• Employment Expected to Start on: As Soon As Possible

Job Duties:

• Maintain a safe, clean and caring environment for the child.
• Take the child to school and pick her up on school days.
• Prepare meals and snack selections for the child.
• Plan and supervise structured, educational activities, and playtime for the child.
• Provide educational training based on the child’s age, including out-door and in-door activities, games, reading, etc.
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with parents and the child.
• Oversee and promote the child's emotional and social development.
• May perform housekeeping duties as requested by the parents.
• Keep up-to-date records of children’s development, routines, and interest.
• When necessary, administer first-aid or CPR to the child.

Requirements:

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Previous Experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
• Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
• First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate would be an asset.

Experience:

1 to less than 7 months
