Currently, we are looking for a full-time Head Cashier who will be a good fit to join our team and continue bringing Gratia’s vision of community to life.

Work Location: 22225 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC V2X 3H8

Position Title: Head Cashier

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 1

Wage: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)

Work Hours: 30 hours per week

Benefit: 2 weeks paid vacation or 4 % vacation pay

Job Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service, and handle issues regarding customer concerns and requests that may arise by ensuring efficient cash operations;
• Supervise, delegate tasks to, and prepare work schedules for cashiers and monitor, providing guidance, training, and support;
• Enforce and ensure compliance with cash handling policies and procedures, and prepare daily sales reports, reconcile cash registers, and deposit funds;
• Assist in producing regular reports to inform management about incoming and outgoing cash, debit, and credit transactions, merchandising, and staffing matters;
• Train new cashiers on cash handling procedures, customer service, and operating cash register (pos) systems;
• Cover cashier duties when needed and prepare daily change for the cash register;
• Perform some managerial duties as needed such as handling escalated customer inquiries, and complaints, supporting the sales supervisor;
• Coordinate with other departments to address issues and ensure smooth cafe operations

Qualifications:

• Completion of secondary school is required;
• Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar role is required;
• Proficient in using cash register systems and basic computer skills;
• Goal-oriented and leadership skills are required;
• Problem-solving skills with a professional manner and a great team player;
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
