Location: Grand Prairie, AB T8W 0G9

Salary: $ 17.25 hourly for 40 hours per week

Overtime:1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Greeting customers and providing a warm welcome.
  • Taking customer orders and ensuring accuracy in recording them. Attending to customers' needs, providing a friendly and efficient service, and taking orders accurately.
  • Assisting customers in selecting menu items and providing recommendations.
  • Preparing and serving food and beverages, following standardized recipes and portion sizes.
  • Operating cash registers and processing payments from customers. Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing vegetables, assembling sandwiches, or arranging salad ingredients.
  • Accepting payments, processing transactions, and giving change to customers, ensuring accuracy and maintaining cash register security.
  • Keeping track of food and beverage inventory levels, notifying supervisors when supplies need to be restocked, and assisting with inventory management tasks.
  • Keeping the counter and food display areas clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Monitoring food quality, ensuring freshness, and maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Handling customer inquiries, complaints, or special requests professionally and promptly.
  • Collaborating with kitchen staff to coordinate order preparation and timely service.
  • Maintaining knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and any specials or promotions.
  • Following health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Performing other related tasks, such as restocking supplies, washing dishes, and maintaining equipment cleanliness.

 

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This job requires a secondary school certificate as an educational prerequisite.
  • Good verbal communication skills are important to interact effectively with customers and colleagues. Fluency in the local language is typically required.
  • This job may involve standing for long periods, lifting and carrying trays or food items, and performing repetitive tasks, so physical fitness and stamina are important.
  • One should have a friendly and courteous demeanor, in order to build friendly interactions with the customers. Good customer service skills and a desire to provide a positive experience are important.
  • Understand and adhere to proper hygiene practices and cleanliness standards to ensure food safety and sanitation.
  • The ability to adapt to changing situations and handle busy or high-pressure periods is important in a fast-paced food counter environment.
  •  Collaboration and effective communication with coworkers are essential for a smooth operation. Being a team player and working well with others is crucial.
  • Need to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as taking orders, serving customers, and handling transactions. Strong multi-tasking abilities are valuable in managing these responsibilities efficiently.
