Job Description:

-This position is to work with children Ages: 24 months – 36 months

Job Duties:
-Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
-Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, -provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
-Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
-Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
-Knowledge of Daycare Services Act
-Knowledge of licensing regulations
-Establish guidelines for behaviour
-Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
-Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
-Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
-Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
-Order supplies and equipment
-Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
-Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Requirements:
-Education: A bachelor's degree or college diploma in early childhood education is required.
-Experience: Experience an asset
-Valid ECE license is required
-Satisfactory criminal record check is required
-Able to work independently.
-Well developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication.
-Valid First Aid certificate & CPR
Salary:
$15.00 hourly, 37.5 Hours per week. Employee must be able to work between 6:45am and 5:30 pm between Monday – Friday with 1 hour unpaid lunch break.(Flexible Schedule)
