Job description


Sushi Sonoya, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, is looking for a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team. If you have a love for cooking and want to be a part of a dynamic kitchen environment, we want to hear from you!

Terms of Employment

Permanent & Full-time (minimum 30 hours per week)

 

Start Date

As soon as possible

 

Compensation

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour (may depend on qualification)

Overtime wage of $25.50 - $28.50 per hour if exceeds 8 hours a day or 40 hours per week

Job duties

  • Make and prepare complete meals and individual dishes.
  • Oversee the kitchen's day-to-day activities including guiding kitchen staff in their task.
  • Maintain records of food inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate in planning menus, portion sizing, and estimating food needs and costs.
  • Train new kitchen staff.

Qualifications

  • High School graduation.
  • 2-3 years of related experience in commercial cooking or completion of a college program in related fields.
