Position: Food Counter Attendant / Baker

• Location: 72 Gary Martin Drive, Bedford B4B 1H3, Nova Scotia
• Salary: $15–18 / hourly
• Terms of employment: Permanent employment, full-time (30 hours/week)
• Start date: As soon as possible

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units
• Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
• Package take-out food
• Portion and wrap foods
• Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
• Serve customers at counter
• Take customers' orders
• Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
• Handle and store cleaning products
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash
• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
• Keep track of production details including amount, weight, size, date, and product category.
• Ensure standards for safety and cleanliness are followed, and that quality is maintained.
• Prepare bread dough, mixing products
• Closely follow existing recipes
• Check products for defects and compliance with company standards and adjust machines as necessary.
• Check oven temperatures and speeds frequently to make sure they adhere to standards, and make any adjustments.
• Ensure timely completion of baked products
• Hands-on experience with manual oven

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Highschool or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience
• Security and safety: Criminal record check
• Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Work under pressure
• Work site environment: Hot, Cold/refrigerated
• Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer
