Position: Director of Engineering (NOC 20010) - 1 vacancy

Salary: $160,000-$180,000 annually ($76.92-$86.54 per hour) based on experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required, additional education is considered an asset

Work experience: Minimum of 8 years experience required in mechanical engineering, MEP engineering, and sustainable methods of construction, including supervisory or managerial experience.

 

Credentials:

  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a Canadian provincial or territorial association of professional engineers
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of the engineering department in Toronto, Ontario including but not limited to personnel recruitment & development, assign, coordinate and review technical work of the department & project teams and develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the office and across the company
  • Responsible for development of CES Sustainable design services in both North America and Globally, with both sustainability and modularisation of MEP systems being a major driver in its development including Design for manufacturing assemblies
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department
  • Develop strong relationships with Modern Methods of Construction suppliers & developers across North America and Globally to allow us to leverage our knowledge learnt across a whole range of challenges and increase number of modular projects
  • Be instrumental in the promotion and development of Sustainable Methods of Construction techniques in building services to allow CES to aid in housing shortfalls and advise developers and local authorities alike, both in North America and Globally
  • Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings

  • Assign, co-ordinate and review the technical work of the Toronto, Ontario engineering department and project teams
  • Recruit personnel and oversee development and maintenance of staff competence  at our Toronto, Ontario location
  • Participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects at our Toronto, Ontario location

Work site environment: Office based with site/client visits nationally & internationally as/where required. Estimated no more than 30 days annually outside of country.
