Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our retail service establishment, which includes a convenience store, gas bar, and related retail business in Strathmore, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring smooth operations, maintaining customer satisfaction, and driving business growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control daily operations of the retail establishment

• Evaluate, plan, and organize daily business activities

• Manage staff, assign duties, and conduct performance reviews

• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff and/or volunteers

• Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies

• Plan budgets, monitor revenues and expenses

• Determine merchandise and services to be sold, implement pricing and credit policies

• Oversee payroll administration and scheduling

• Resolve issues including customer complaints, supply shortages, and staffing needs

• Ensure compliance with company standards and policies

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate or equivalent experience

• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of related supervisory/management experience in retail or service industries

• Skills & Knowledge:

  • Point of Sale (POS) system

  • Word processing software

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
