Permanent Position: Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Number of Positions: 1

Wage Rate: $25 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend, Overtime available

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Benefits: 4% Vacation Pay

Work Location: 1416 Island Hwy, Unit 140, Campbell River, BC, V9W 8C9

Job Duties:

• Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
• Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
• Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
• Plan and organize daily operations
• Manage events
• Participate in marketing plans and implementation
• Set staff work schedules
• Recruit and supervise staff
• Train staff
• Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
• Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
• Monitor staff performance and conduct performance reviews
• Cost products and services
• Organize and maintain inventory
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
• Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
• Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities and provide customer service
• Address customers' complaints or concerns

Requirements:

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and attention to detail.

Fluent in English
