Position: Excavator Operator
Number of Positions: 1
Term of Employment: Full-time; Permanent
Wage: $37.00 per hour
Work Location: Various Locations in Vancouver, Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver (BC) areas as per company’s work contracts with its customers.
Position responsibilities:
- Operate excavators to perform earth-moving, trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling activities on construction and work sites.
- Review site plans, grade stakes, utility markings, and verbal instructions to carry out excavation work safely and accurately.
- Excavate trenches for utilities, foundations, drainage systems, and pipelines while ensuring proper depth, alignment, and slope.
- Load, move, and distribute soil, gravel, rocks, debris, and other materials using excavator attachments such as buckets.
- Perform routine pre-operation inspections of the excavator, including checking fluid levels, controls, and safety devices.
- Follow safety procedures and site regulations to prevent damage or accidents
Position Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School
- Completion of a one- to two-year apprenticeship program or industry courses in heavy equipment operating.
- Ability to communicate in English is required
