Job Overview

The Print Supervisor oversees the full operational workflow of the Print & Display division. This leadership role supervises and coordinates production teams responsible for printing, cutting, finishing, packaging, and material handling. The role ensures the division operates efficiently, safely, and at a high-quality standard, meeting project timelines and client specifications while driving continuous improvement and cost optimization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers involved in large-format printing, heat transfer/dye sublimation processes, cutting, finishing, packing, and preparation of display products.
  • Establish methods to meet production schedules and coordinate work activities across departments including sales, design, project management, lighting, and logistics.
  • Ensure accurate daily planning and execution of work orders, workflow priorities, and job completion timelines.
  • Maintain strong operational control from raw material handling to final product delivery.

 

Quality Control, Proof Approval & Colour Management

  • Review and approve job proofs, samples, and final outputs to ensure the quality of work meets client specifications and internal standards.
  • Oversee colour consistency and quality assurance for textile and UV printing, including calibration processes and workflow standards.
  • Resolve quality issues such as colour variance, misprints, cutting inaccuracies, or finishing defects.
  • Ensure packaging and labeling accuracy for final delivery and project installation.

 

Inventory, Materials & Logistics Oversight

  • Requisition materials, supplies, and consumables required for printing and production (inks, substrates, rolls, blades, parts, packaging materials).
  • Supervise loading and unloading of material rolls; oversee internal transport of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the company using manual or powered equipment.
  • Coordinate inventory management practices to ensure continuous production readiness and accurate stock levels.
  • Oversee sorting, packing, labeling, and packaging of products to meet shipping and installation requirements.

 

Troubleshooting, Maintenance & Equipment Readiness

  • Resolve operational and technical issues by troubleshooting printing equipment, software systems, workflow disruptions, and production bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of production equipment and immediate work areas to ensure safety and operational uptime.
  • Support or oversee machine setup and adjustments as needed to ensure production accuracy, efficiency, and minimal downtime.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams or vendors to ensure timely repairs and adherence to equipment care requirements.

 

Leadership, Training & Safety Compliance

  • Train staff in job duties, safety procedures, workflow processes, and print factory standards; ensure procedural follow-through and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all production activities, including physical and repetitive tasks.

 

Reporting, KPIs & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare production reports and monitor production targets, quality performance, downtime, waste, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions and ensure consistent workflow execution.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and cost reduction strategies to increase productivity and improve product quality.

 

Hands-On Production Oversight

  • Provide hands-on support and supervision for tasks including Large-format UV printing
  • Dye sublimation / heat transfer printing
  • Laser cutting and digital cutting (CNC-style cutting workflows)
  • Sewing support and textile finishing tasks
  • Packing, labeling, and final product preparation for installation
  • Ensure team adherence to physical and manual labor requirements with attention to detail, safety, and quality.

 

Employment Details

  • Employment type: Full-time, permanent
  • Expected start date: as soon as possible

 

  • Work schedule:
    • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • Occasional weekend work may be required

 

Wages and Benefits

  • Wage: $35.55 per hour
  • Minimum hours: We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Education: Vocational or college diploma/certificate in Printing or a related field
  • Experience: At least two (2) years of relevant experience in printing or production including at least six (6) months in a supervisory capacity.

 

Language Requirements

  • Good command of either French or English is required.
