$21.00 to $22.00 per hour (to be negotiated)

30 to 40 hours per week

Job Description

A private household in North Vancouver is seeking a dependable and caring Home Child Care Provider to provide full-time care for children in the employer’s home. The successful candidate will ensure a safe, nurturing, and structured environment while assisting with daily childcare routines and light household duties.

Job Duties

• Supervise and care for children in the employer’s home
• Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
• Prepare infants and children for rest periods
• Follow parents’ lead with toilet training
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• Organize activities such as games and outings for children
• Take children to and from school and appointments
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
• Tend to the emotional well-being of children
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to child care
• Shop for food and household supplies
• Cook meals for children and household

Employment Requirements

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• 7 months to less than 1 year of childcare or related experience
• Demonstrated ability to perform childcare duties
• Training in child care or a related field is an asset
• First aid certification and CPR training are assets
• Ability to communicate in English

Work Setting

• Employer’s private home
• On-site work only (no remote option)
• Room and board provided
