Job description

Our family is looking for a suitable and qualified Home Child Care Provider in our home located in Markham, Ontario, to take care of our young child.

Job Duties:

1. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the child, including washing bottles, cleaning feeding items, tidying the nursery, and laundering the child’s clothes and bedding.
2. Follow the parents’ instructions and established routines in providing consistent and attentive care for the child.
3. Attend to the child’s daily personal care needs, including diaper changing, bathing, dressing, and maintaining proper hygiene.
4. Keep records of the child’s daily activities and health information, including feeding, sleeping, diaper changes, and any signs of discomfort or illness.
5. Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment in the home for the child.
6. Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities to support the child’s early sensory, emotional, and developmental needs.
7. Prepare, warm, and serve bottles, formula, or age-appropriate nutritious food as instructed by the parents.
8. Supervise and care for the child at all times, including feeding, soothing, holding, and monitoring during rest and play.
9. Tend to the child’s emotional well-being by providing comfort, reassurance, affection, and responsive care.

Job Details:

1. Salary: $22.00 per hour, 30 hours per week
2. Employment Type: Terms or contract; Full-time
3. Work Location: Markham, ON, L3R 5G9, intersection of McCowan Rd and Highway 7
4. Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free

Requirements:

1. Completion of secondary (high) school education is required.
2. Minimum 1 year of previous work experience in the field of child care, or full-time training in the field of early child care/education.
3. First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset.
4. Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
5. Must be patient, friendly, reliable, organized and flexible.
