Salary: $37.20 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week

Job Description

Motoworld Auto Ltd is an auto repair shop and has been servicing fine cars and trucks. We provide auto repair and maintenance for regions across the Lower Mainland. We are currently looking to add two more automotive service technicians to our team.

Job Duties

  • Review and Assess Work Orders:
    Thoroughly review work orders and consult with the service supervisor to ensure full understanding of vehicle issues, required services, and any special instructions before starting repairs.
  • Conduct Vehicle Inspections:
    Perform comprehensive inspections on vehicles, including road testing and using computerized diagnostic tools to identify and diagnose issues in the vehicle’s systems, such as engine, transmission, electrical, and exhaust systems.
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot Vehicle Systems:
    Utilize diagnostic tools like OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) scanners to identify faults in automotive systems. Troubleshoot a wide range of vehicle components, from the fuel system to climate control and electrical systems.
  • Repair, Adjust, and Replace Parts:
    Repair, replace, or adjust automotive parts across various systems including the fuel, brake, suspension, drivetrain, exhaust, emissions, electrical, and more, using specialized automotive tools and equipment.
  • Test and Calibrate Repaired Systems:
    After completing repairs, test and adjust systems to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications, guaranteeing the vehicle is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance:
    Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, lubrication, spark plug replacements, air filter changes, and more to keep vehicles running at their best. Customer
  • Communication:
    Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repairs or maintenance performed. Provide advice on the vehicle’s condition and offer recommendations for future repairs or maintenance.
  • Maintain Accurate Records:
    Document all repairs, services, and diagnostic results in the shop’s system. Keep accurate records of customer interactions and vehicle histories for future reference.
  • Ensure Workplace Safety:
    Adhere to safety protocols when working with tools, hazardous materials, or heavy equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Team Members:
    Work closely with other technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise, to resolve complex repair issues. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends:
    Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge by attending training sessions, workshops, and staying updated on the latest automotive repair technologies and industry best practices.
  • Assist with Inventory Management:
    Help manage parts inventory by monitoring stock levels and ensuring that tools and equipment are in good working condition. Notify supervisors when parts need to be restocked or replaced.

 Provide Excellent Customer Service:
Maintain a customer-first attitude in all interactions, ensuring high-quality service and complete customer satisfaction.

Employment requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is must.
  • 3 years of work experience in the auto body and collision technician trade and completion of a professional or college automotive body repair program or 4-year auto body and collision damage technician apprenticeship program is required.
  • Trade certification for automotive service technician will be an asset to have, but not mandatory.
  • Good communication skills in English are required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

As per BC Employment Standards act, 10 days paid vacation annually or 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each period. 5 days of paid sick leave per year. Overtime rate is applicable after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
