SELC College is currently seeking an International Business Development Officer to join our team. Position: International Business Development Officer

The position reports to senior management and provides professional expertise in international expansion planning and execution within a regulated education environment.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Conduct comprehensive international market research to identify opportunities for student recruitment and program expansion, including analysis of education trends, regulatory environments, and labour market demand.
  • Analyze economic, demographic, and sector-specific data to identify emerging markets and support institutional growth initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of international market-entry strategies based on research findings and organizational priorities, including emerging regions such as Africa.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and support risk assessments for potential international partnerships and initiatives.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with international educational institutions, agencies, and relevant organizations to support student recruitment and program pathways.
  • Identify and support opportunities for resource mobilization, including collaboration with international partners and organizations to facilitate program development and market expansion initiatives.
  • Conduct research on potential funding sources, partnership models, and international collaboration opportunities to support institutional projects.
  • Assist in the coordination and development of partnership proposals, agreements, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and data analyses to support decision-making by senior management.
  • Monitor international education trends and competitor activities to inform ongoing market development efforts.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of structured research methodologies and reporting systems to track outcomes and support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support international initiatives and share insights on market trends and partnership opportunities.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with applicable regulatory and institutional requirements.

 

 

Employment requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, marketing, international development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in market research, business development, or international market analysis.
  • Experience conducting market assessments, data analysis, and feasibility studies to support business or institutional initiatives.
  • Experience supporting partnership development or working with international institutions, organizations, or stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

 

Other Skills

  • Ability to analyze data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Knowledge of international education markets and student mobility trends.
  • Familiarity with emerging markets, including Africa, is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of partnership development and resource mobilization approaches in an international context is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships.

 

 

Annual salary
