Job Description
We are looking for a caring, responsible, and dependable Home Child Care Provider to assist with the daily care and supervision of children in a private household setting. The ideal candidate will support the children’s physical, emotional, and social development while ensuring a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.
The successful applicant will be required to perform childcare duties at the employer’s residence and provide attentive care according to the parents’ instructions and household routines.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide attentive supervision and daily care for infants and children
· Assist children with personal hygiene routines and encourage positive social behavior
· Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks for children
· Feed, bathe, and dress infants and young children as needed
· Support parents with toilet training routines and child development practices
· Sanitize baby bottles, prepare infant formula, and maintain cleanliness of feeding items
· Create a safe, clean, and organized home environment for children
· Plan engaging indoor and outdoor activities, games, and recreational outings
· Monitor children’s emotional well-being and provide comfort and support
· Maintain records related to children’s daily routines, meals, and health information
· Prepare children for naps and rest periods
· Escort children to and from school, appointments, or recreational activities when required
· Assist school-age children with homework and educational activities
· Follow parents’ guidance regarding discipline and childcare methods
Employment Requirements
· Secondary (high) school graduation certificate preferred
· Previous childcare experience is considered an asset
· Ability to care for children with patience, responsibility, and attention
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently in a private household environment
· Reliable, trustworthy, and organized
· Basic knowledge of child safety and hygiene practices
Work Setting
· Private family residence
· On-site work location in Surrey, British Columbia
· Work must be completed at the physical location; remote work is not available
Work Conditions & Physical Demands
· Repetitive childcare activities including standing, walking, and lifting children
· Attention to children’s safety and emotional needs at all times
· Ability to multitask in a home-based environment
· Physically active work involving childcare routines and household organization
Work Schedule
· Full-time hours
· Day, evening, and weekend shifts may be required depending on family needs
· Overtime may occasionally be required
