Work Location: On the Road – Richmond, BC (Servicing Metro Vancouver)
Salary: $47.00 hourly / 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and overhaul heating and HVAC systems.
  • Set up and service commercial and other refrigeration equipment.
  • Install and maintain ventilation, air-handling, and air-conditioning systems.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and work instructions before beginning installations or repairs.
  • Take measurements and establish proper layout points for equipment and system installation.
  • Assist with preparing project tenders, estimates, and customer quotations.
  • Diagnose and repair problems affecting heating, ventilation, refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pump systems.
  • Assemble, connect, and replace refrigeration and air-conditioning components as required.
  • Provide guidance and practical instruction to apprentices and junior workers.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and join piping using appropriate welding and brazing methods.
  • Communicate with customers regarding service requirements and completed work.
  • Start and test newly installed or serviced systems and check for leaks and proper operation.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, including refrigerant charging, regulator testing, and system calibration.
  • Follow applicable gas codes and other technical requirements when performing installations and repairs.
  • Safely recover, handle, and store refrigerants in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Repair or replace defective components in refrigeration, air-conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump systems.
  • Prepare and provide accurate price estimates and quotations for customers.
