Job Duties

• Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the daily activities of nursery workers engaged in plant propagation, cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting.
• Plan, assign, and schedule work to ensure production targets and operational deadlines are achieved efficiently.
• Inspect nursery stock regularly to monitor plant health, identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, or other quality concerns, and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure compliance with nursery operating procedures, workplace health and safety standards, and biosecurity protocols.
• Train new employees on nursery operations, proper plant handling techniques, safe equipment operation, and company policies.
• Maintain production, quality control, inventory, and employee work records, and prepare operational reports as required.
• Monitor irrigation, fertilization, pruning, pest management, and other crop care activities to ensure high-quality plant production.
• Coordinate the preparation, grading, packaging, and shipment of nursery stock to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and minor repair scheduling of nursery equipment, machinery, tools, and facilities.
• Recommend improvements to production methods, workflow, staffing, and resource utilization to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
