Salary: $39.00/Hourly for 35-40 hours

Job Location(s): Various locations in Okanagan region based at 723-812 Saucier Avenue Kelowna BC Canada V1Y 0R1. There is no option for remote work.

Work Site environment: Heights, Confined spaces, Noisy, Dusty & Outdoors

Tasks

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to buildings codes, using measuring tools.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of client
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, hardware etc.
• Instruct, direct and coordinate with other workers

Job Requirements

• Education: Completion of senior secondary is usually required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in construction or similar industry. OR 3-4 years of apprenticeship program
• Language: Excellent oral and written communication
• Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, physically demanding, Work at heights, Dusty and outdoors environment.
• Personal Suitability: Organized, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player
• Credentials: Personal protective equipment training and Fall arrest protection training course are required.
• Tools: Safety equipment, steel toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses & safety vest.
