Job Duties:
- Operate straight trucks and articulated trucks to safely transport goods and materials to assigned destinations.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, mileage, driving hours, and other required transportation information.
- Communicate with dispatchers to receive delivery instructions, provide trip updates, and share important transportation-related information.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration systems, and other vehicle components are in proper working condition.
- Properly secure and protect cargo using tarps, straps, and other appropriate load-protection methods.
- Respond to customer questions and resolve delivery-related concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
- Carry out minor roadside repairs and maintenance when required to prevent delays and maintain safe vehicle operation.
- Work collaboratively with other drivers in team-driving or convoy arrangements when necessary to meet delivery schedules and transportation requirements.
