1402574 BC LTD DBA Wells Line Vegetable Growers is looking for Fulltime, Permanent Farm Supervisors.

Wages: $22.00 per hour for 40 hours per week

Job Requirements:

Language

Education

• No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

• 7 months to less than 1 year

Job Duties:

• Supervise and coordinate daily farm activities, including planting, growing, harvesting and preparing crops for sale.
• Assign tasks to farm workers and harvesting labourers and ensure work is completed properly and on time.
• Monitor crop growth and oversee watering, fertilizing, weeding and other crop maintenance activities.
• Supervise harvesting operations and ensure crops are harvested and handled properly.
• Inspect harvested produce and separate marketable products from damaged or unsuitable products.
• Oversee sorting, grading, packing and preparation of produce for storage and sale.
• Plan and organize daily work schedules based on farm requirements and seasonal activities.
• Hire and train farm workers in proper farming methods, equipment use and workplace safety.
• Monitor workers’ performance and provide guidance when required.
• Ensure farm safety, cleanliness and biosecurity procedures are followed.
• Maintain records of crop production, harvesting activities, worker hours and daily farm operations.
• Assist with maintaining basic financial records, production costs and farm expenses.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery, tools and equipment as required.
• Identify and report crop problems, equipment issues and other operational concerns to management.
• Perform general farm duties when required.
