Job Opportunity – Kitchen Helper

Position: Kitchen Helper
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Vacancies: 1
Wage: $18.25 per hour, 40 hours per week

Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Location: 667 Island Hwy East, Unit 3, Parksville, British Columbia V9P 1T6

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, cut and prepare vegetables and fruits, other ingredients used in preparing burritos, tacos, quesadillas and bowls.
• Assist cooks and kitchen staff with basic food preparation and other routine kitchen tasks.
• Receive, unpack and store food supplies and ingredients in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and designated storage areas.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, preparation tables, cupboards, appliances, equipment and food storage areas.
• Remove kitchen garbage and waste, clean garbage containers and maintain cleanliness in kitchen area.
• Sweep, mop and clean kitchen floors to maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.

Employment Requirements

• No prior work experience is required; training will be provided.
• No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and under pressure.
• Ability to remain standing for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Ability to work in a hot and physically demanding kitchen environment.
